1st Day Trip to Ticao Island Resort: SM City Naga & 1st Colonial Grill – Trip Jem
TRAVEL

1st Day Trip to Ticao Island Resort: SM City Naga & 1st Colonial Grill

From Manila or nearby cities and metro provinces such as our home in Cainta, a trip to Ticao Island usually takes around 12 to 14 hours.

Perfect if you enjoy the longer road trip as much as our new car did enjoy its first long drive.

1

Our 2017 Hyundai Tucson are all packed and ready!

We left as early as 5AM because our target was to arrive in the afternoon at our stop over.

3

After almost 11 hours, we finally reached Naga City!

If Bacolod is the City of Smiles, Naga has this tagline Smiles to the World. So, should we smile after our car has reached a thousand miles? No! We smile because we saw SM City Naga, giving us a signal that it was time to eat!

You may order the same seafood meal in Manila but nothing compares fresh seafood in provinces! That’s our order of grilled tahong!

Crunchy pork sisig! We ordered the same meals we were used to eating before jumping in to new finds to save our belly for the next round of food trip!

Pinakbet got that squash we needed to banish our bloating from long sitting time.

That sinigang has more vegetables than meat in it but we did not mind as long as the soup is sour and savory.

After that long journey, we deserve lots of rice!

By the way, we went on this road trip on the 26th of December 2017. Did you see Santa in gold? He was there at the 1st Colonial Grill where we had our lunch.

Location: 1st Colonial Grill, Roxas Avenue, Naga, Camarines Sur

Here is their menu below:

1st Colonial Grill specialty is their sili ice cream but we did not order it as we were avoiding desserts on Day 1 of the trip. It is easy to get sick during travels especially when you load yourself with sugar. We were not even at our main destination yet to reward ourselves with tempting desserts! But we will surely go back at this restaurant and explore more of Naga’s attractions!

Have you been to Naga or have you tried out 1st Colonial Grill’s sili ice cream? Feel free to comment below!

Our next post will still be about Day 1 and the budget hotel we stayed in Naga, but that’s it for now!

Happy Vacation Trip!

’til next time,
